What does grain free raw vegan look like?

Here is what grain free, high raw looks like for me today:

Breakfast- preworkout smoothie
1 Scoop Sunwarrior Warrior Blend Vanilla
2 bananas
8oz coconut water
1.5 c spinach
1 tsp Maca powder

Lunch
4 tbsp peanut butter (not raw but you can always do raw almond butter.   I am really loving peanut butter right now)
1 apple
4 7inch carrot sticks cut into slices

Dinner Smoothie
2 scoops warrior blend chocolate
1 young coconut (meat and water)
1 c. cherries or a banana (depends on my mood when I get there)
1 tsp raw cacao

So that's the day.  I might throw in a Larabar for good measure, but right now I feel STUFFED from lunch.  Not really thinking the snack will be necessary.  If you aren't into smoothies, you can always eat a big ass salad.  My favorite one from dinner last night was a 1/2 bag of salad, a shredded raw beet, 1/2 a cooked sweet potato, an avocado and YUM.

Have a fierce and fab day!!!

  1. Hi,
I love your blog and luckily I just found it!!
My menu is VERY similar to yours! I drink sunwarrior too, but I was just wondering, do you consume those as a protein source everyday? I kinda don't want to depend on them everyday but I don't know what else can substitute for them. What is a an ex. of a menu for u without sunwarrior? i am transitioning into a grain-free diet---I already live a raw vegan lifestyle. Any advice will be greatly appreciated! : ) thanks!!

  2. Hi Martha!!! Thank you for reading!!!! I love it!!! A couple of other great protein sources I have put in are Plain hemp protein powder from Nutivas, chia seeds (great for omega 3's), and a lot more greens. I use protein powders A LOT and unfortunately, have not found a way to get around them other than putting in fish a couple of times a week (usually wild caught salmon) or bison- which I'm not sure where you fall in your personal ethical commitment to being vegan. I am a waffler. If you read my blog, you will find my struggles with maintaining veganism quite present hahaha. Currently I am eating 85% raw with the occasional meat and dairy (maybe once or twice a week). I have noticed the longer I am mostly raw, the less tolerance I have for those foods. Here are a couple of my favorites for blogs: Rawissexy.com- Lauren is fabulous and a friend. She is a great resource. Also, Kristen Suzanne is a wonderful resource for different protein powders and ideas on how to maintain muscle mass for athletes. Brendan Brazier is another great source of information. Hopefully I am not repeating things you already know ;0) Blessing, Martha!!!! Thanks for checking out the blog!!! xoxo J
